The University Of Kansas

The University of Kansas was founded between on Hogback Ridge, above the river valley to form what many like to call a “castle on a hill.” The campus opened its doors in the fall of 1866 and has been open ever since. From there, the university has gone on to produce some of the highest scholars of all time including presidential candidates, Pulitzer winners and even a Nobel Prize winner. In addition, Helium was extracted from gas for the first time at KU, too.
